Missing You

My fiance and I are both in the military. We have been through a lot together throughout our relationship. But the toughest trial is about to unfold within the next week. We have both been called up to serve our country and therefore have been activated. Our destinations are both unknown and we will be gone for 6 months to 2 years. I know that our love and hearts are strong enough to endure such a hard and tedious road ahead. I just want couples to realize that everything can be perfect one day and then the next, it can be turned upside down. Please don't take your mates love for granted. We will both be fine because we have big hearts and most of all we have God on our side and in our hearts.

Comments From Readers

A reader says ... Serving our country is unconditional love!

A reader says ... My husband is a sailor as well, he is deployed 75% of the year. It really stinks, especially since we are stationed overseas and have no children, but I will say that if God had not brought us together and paved the way to this duty station there is no way we would have made it. It is wonderful to know that the love we share will withstand separation, time after time and the distance just makes us work that much harder towards having a wonderful relationship. Hang in there, the deployments will eventually be over and early retirement is SO worth it!

A reader says ... So good to hear how strong your love is.  I am married to a soldier in the U.S. Army.  We have been apart for 9 months now and it has been difficult.  Having God on our side and in our lives has been critical.  We have gone through a lot and our marriage has only gotten better!  I am closer now to my husband then ever before (and we had a great love for one another to begin with) and vice-versa.  This is all due to the fact that we place God first and have given him our lives.  He has taken such good care of us and we just continue to reap his blessings!  It's incredible!  He is due back in 4 months I believe and I can't wait to share the rest of my life with him.  We have two children and still have an incredible desire for one another and love.  I am so anxious to be with him again, but I know we will be united again soon.  Hang in there, be strong in your relationship with God and your partner and you will be fine!  Nothing good in life comes easy, but it sure is worth all the hard work in the end!  God bless!  God bless our troops!

A reader says ... I wish you both well...my boyfriend is in the Navy and just recently got deployed...I miss him sooooooooooo much...just keep in touch as much as possible and you will be fine! I promise.
