Marriage – A Covenant With God
Marriage – A Covenant With God
Malachi 2:13-16
13 You cover the alter of the Lord with tears, with weeping and crying; so He does not regard the offering anymore, nor receive it with goodwill from your hands. 14 Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously; yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant. 15 But did He not make them one, having a remnant of the Spirit? And why One? He seeks godly offsprings. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. 16 “For the Lord God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one's garment with violence,” says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.” (NKJV)
These scriptures affirm that your marriage vows are not only to each other, but unto God. God hates divorce, marital separation, physical violence and any type of abuse. You must allow God to govern your actions and reactions when dealing with each other. Always remember, you have entered into a covenant with God.

The foundation for any successful marriage is to put God and His Word first. Matthew 6:33 Let us continue in the word of God, and when it seems your strength has failed and you've grown weary, remember “the Lord is the strength of your life” (Psalm 27:1). It is He that giveth us the strength and wisdom to do his will: His will is that man and woman be together as one in marriage, for He ordained this; the love, respect and faithfulness to your vows are the bedrock of your marriage.
I encourage you to take a stand for Christ, ask God to not allow demons, and the devil to break up your happy home. Be firm in the work of the Lord and as the helper of your family. I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finished (Phil, 1:6). May the Lord continue to bless and keep you is our prayer.
