good advice

My wife and I have been married 20 years now, and I feel that I love and appreciate her more now than ever before.  We have had our share of problems but have worked through them with the help of one another, and of the Lord.

There is something about my wife that attracted me to her back then when we were younger but also now that we're approaching “middle age” (oh, boy) and that is her smile.  She has a wonderful smile and a cheerful personality.  This is in contrast to my own darker and brooding mood swings.  I believe God gave her to me because He loved me and knew that I needed a woman like this to help get me through.

In the physical department we have perhaps seemed to some to be incompatible.  Let's just say that we appear to have opposite body types.  But, again, when the Lord brings two people together He can make it so the relationship lasts and is fruitful in the long run, and satisfying in every way to both partners.  I think there are probably many who've celebrated their 50th anniversary (and more) who can also attest to this.  No one seems to want to listen to an older person for advice on sex and relationships but perhaps we should be more open.  Some of the hottest sex has probably been done by some of these older couples who've shared their beds with the same spouse for many years.  There's something about having the stability of a soulmate to share your life as well as your body with…

My wife and I have gone through some hard and frustrating times – sexually and otherwise with some of them lasting awhile – but if both are willing to work through their problems then I believe success awaits them in the end.  God is good, but we must also endure some things and do our part.  I have not always been a perfect saint, but I believe I have seen this principle to be true.
