Our courtship

My husband and I met in college, our freshman year. Although we hung out in groups, we didn't really say a whole lot. He was the quiet boy who was a missionary's kid, and I was the semi-quiet girl with the loud friends. I thought he was cute, and I told my girlfriends that during late night runs to taco bell and eating pizza in our dorm rooms. But nothing would come of it, I thought.

The fall semester of my sophomore year, I met up with him again. We had two of the same classes, being in the same major. We did a weekend trip with friends to Georgia, and we started dating after that. We talked so much together. For two quiet people, we couldn't seem to shut up. That Christmas, he went to visit his family in Bolivia, and then in the spring, he spent the semester studying in London. It was a real strain on our relationship, him being so far away. Then that summer, he spent it in Mississippi with his grandparents and I spent it in Florida with my family. It felt like we were never together anymore!

But we still talked almost nightly on the phone, and sent emails and real mail. That fall, we were together again in school. We grew closer and closer, and the weekend before Thanksgiving, he proposed to me! Of course, I said yes. I was madly in love with him.

Now, we have been married for 2.5 weeks. It seems like a lot longer. I am so glad that we are together, and that we have the rest of our lives to grow old together.
