first in her life
In a potential wife, I would want someone for whom God is first in her life. He would be first before career success, before making a lovely home, before clothes, before having fun, before romance, and before me. This would not mean she was "way too serious;" on the contrary, I think she would be joyful. It would mean, though, that her real priorities were spiritual, only after which everything else could have its appropriate place.
She would also be the kind of woman who would want a man for whom God is first in his life, too. God would be first before work, before sports and recreation, before accumulating stuff, before everything, including her. It sounds paradoxical, but only when two people put God before each other can they have the best possible relationship.
I once dated a woman who claimed to be a Christian, but she put our relationship first; she said it herself. The results were not good. I know that I need--the kind of woman for whom God is first in her life.
Whether or not I find this kind of woman to marry, may God show His grace and make me that kind of man.
