Three women I know have lived life as "nice girls." They have been ladylike and modest and gentle types who have not thrown themselves at men. They have waited, as single women. They have waited for years, wanting very much to be married.
Each has been a prayerful woman, a woman consistently attending to the things of God. Each has hoped, I think, that God would provide a husband. And each has waited.
I do not know what struggles they might have had within themselves about remaining single. It is difficult to live with unfulfilled desires, especially when one knows they are legitimate, good desires. These women might have had some tough times emotionally. They might have reached the point where they pretty much gave up hope of ever being married. The years had gone by, and nothing had happened. Each year it seemed less likely than before.
Well, within the past couple of years, each of them has celebrated in a wedding. Each married a solid man who is liked and admired by others.
Each woman is now quite happy being married. Two of the women were over forty at the time of the wedding, and the other was in her fifties. It is great to see what has happened with each of them.
Even if your horizon looks perfectly flat, there might still be someone in your future. In now-unknown places, there are fine women and fine men out there, though it may seem impossible. We just don't know what might occur!
