Review on '7th Heaven'
What a refreshing pace in television! It warms my heart that while the WB allows crass, degrading shows such as "Will and Grace”, this awesome Christian television broadcast is still going strong, having earned numerous awards; Parents Television Council, The Media Project's Shine Awards, Entertainment Industries Council's Prism Awards, Viewers Voice, Anti-Defamation League, Film Advisory Board, Academy of Religious Broadcasting, Kids Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Family Friendly Forum Awards and the TV Guide Awards.
This wonderful television series portrays what real life really is, the trials, the daily rituals in a large family home, the truth behind what it's really like as a PK (preacher's kid).
This show has touched on everything from the Holocaust, drugs, smoking, teenage sex, lying, boyfriends, vandalism, the right to vote, prejudice against Muslims...
I especially treasure the "Fresh" 7th Heaven episodes, such as the one coming to WB on January 24th at 8pm.
I am looking forward to the birth of Lucy's baby. These recent shows with Lucy and Kevin married, Ruthie beginning to date, Simon dealing with pressures of sex, teenage pregnancy, living in the real world, Matt and Sarah sharing the natural struggles of a new marriage, Martin's daily emotional struggle with the absence of his overseas father, Carlos and Mary on their journey as new parents, Eric and Annie awaiting the birth of their first granddaughter, the adorable twins, Sam and David and their mischievous antics.... it all intrigues and draws me each and every week, in addition to the clean morals and lessons I know I'll find in each and every viewing. I am eager to share these shows that are dear to my heart, with my daughter when she grows from babyhood. And that's saying alot for national TV. The children I do childcare for and my three young nieces eagerly search the TV guide for 7th Heaven shows and are giddy with excitement to find they're coming up next.
7th Heaven has released, recently to the public, the entire first season on DVD. It is inspiring, riveting and spiritual. I eagerly await the release of the second season.
While you can purchase the first season in most department stores, I found they are much more affordable on E-bay, where I purchased the DVD set.
