Prayer brings you closer!
I have been a Christian for sometime and been married to my Christian wife for almost ten years. We have had our ups and slight downs as we grew together closer to Christ. I learned a lesson about prayer that is a little known fact in my book.
I discovered that when I took time to pray, my wife truly was attracted to me as a Godly man who was the true leader of the family. This view of me had several benefits as you can imagine.
#1 - She spent more time with me getting to know me again because I was now viewed the way the Lord intended me to be and she could be comfortable in the role that God intended for her. It was wonderful to get to know the women I love more and get closer to her as we spent time together. You will realize again why you married that
“lady that lives with you"
#2 - She as very attracted to this new Godly man. In fact, she became extremely attracted to me again as if we were in our first six months of marriage. She wanted to pleas me, not simply allow me to be with her. This is a truly different type of physical love. She actually thought of ways to love on me in a kind giving way that spoke to my heart. We become closer and closer all the time because the Lord is part of our marriage not our individual lives.
Both benefits are God's gift to me for being the man I am meant to be. The second benefit however, gave us more than a gift of pleasure... It gave us our second child... and what a gift that is!!
The bottom line is that God can and will give you and your loved one the passion and the relationship that you both desire. The only thing you need to do is give yourself to the lord in prayer and study and be the person and spouse that He wants you to be. Study the Word, pray to Him and be that person and see what happens in your relationship. He is faithful and will not let you down!
PS - If you do study the Word, pray and be that person intended by the father and things get better, but start to fade. You may want to look inward to your actions, studies and prayer. Have you been spending time with the Lord? You will find that you have changed and walked away from the very things that gave you the gifts in the first place. Renew your prayer life and see what it brings.
Spend time with the Lord and enjoy your marriage!
