Romantic Valentine Tips
*Give her a Valentine card she'll never forget--Have you saved all the Valentine's from her, from past V-Days? Buy an enormous cardboard Valentine(in most gift shops) and create a collage of all the Valentine's from recent years, gluing them into place, then write her a long flowery letter on the Valentine, sharing with her everything on your heart and what she means to you on this special day--She'll be touched to tears that you kept her Valentine's all this time!
*For that awesome man in your life, you know what he wants on Valentine's Day! SEX -- make it special. Yeah, your man says he doesn't need candles and seductive scents to be romantic with you, but he really does like them. Light some candles, play soft music and slow dance with your life partner. Oh and wear your really sexy negligee and irrisistable perfume.
*If you're fortunate hubbys, to own a hot tub, whirlpool or jacuzzi in your home, incorporate it into your Valentine plans. Or even a standard tub filled with hot water, scented bubbles and candles will do the trick. Make sure the room is nice and warm, toss a soft fluffy towel in the dryer prior to her getting into the tub. Lay out her clothes for the evening-your choice. Lay out her favorite romance novel, a bath pillow and a romantic note, telling her why you've gone to such lengths to please her. After she's soaked awhile, join her. Offer to give her a head massage as you slowly shampoo her hair.
*Wives, do you want to show your man how much he means to you, but he's so hard to get a gift for? First make sure you're in hiding when he discovers your gift. While he's at work, buy 2-3 bags of Hershey kisses, preferably in the red and silver foil for the occasion. Cut open a corner and begin to "trail" these delectable "kisses" from the door to your bedroom(this could mean up a flight of stairs, but that makes it all the more fun). Starting from the door create little love notes, the first saying "I". As you make your way to your bedroom, a short distance later, place the second note with your lipstick kiss on the floor. Follow it with "the" , then "ground", "you" "walk" and finally "on" - "On" will be at the floor near your bed. When he follows this trail of kisses, he will find you, dressed in the sexiest thing you own (or deliciously naked) on his bed. He will never forget such thoughtfulness and planning that went into his gift. (Bonus if you can find alluring red or black satin sheets)
*If you have kids, give your wife a night away from them. Arrange to have a sitter or relative to come in and whisk your sweetheart away (more spice if you get her boss in on it and blindfold her right from work) to a romantic getaway at a hotel of your choice. Try to get there ahead of time or arrange to have roses and candles artfully placed in your room. Make sure there's a bottle of your favorite wine chilling and a glass bowl of strawberries and chocolate or whipped cream-she'll love you for it!
*While he's taking a shower, warm HIS towel in the dryer. In the steam on the mirror, write I Love You. If there's no steam and to make it more romantic, use your lipstick to write a mushy note for him to discover when he shaves.
*If you want to do something together that's different and fun, agree together to tell each other one thing you've always wanted, whether expensive or not (agree on the price range). Then create "clues" around the house, to help your spouse find their special gift. This is a great way of "letting go" and acting like a child again.
*Another really great idea is to use a symbol of your love, whether it's a paper heart or a seashell (one marriage seminar used this) or a silk rose and take turns hiding it around the house. The first person that finds it, hides it. This is really neat and can take weeks for the other to find.
*Give him a pair of adorable silk boxers
*Give her heartstopping lingerie that you can't wait to see on her.
*Find out what her favorite flowers are and surprise her with them at work-especially thoughtful if they're out of season or in another country.
*Ask him beforehand, in a casual conversation what special something he had always wanted and never received as a child and buy it for him. He'll be so touched that you cared.
*Write each other a heartfelt letter on Valentine's Day. Extra special if your wife is expecting and you write your unborn child a letter too (My husband did this for me-it touched me to tears. It's still in her scrapbook. Mine of course is hidden away ;)
