I was raising three small children by myself. My husband had left me for another woman. Since I'm a Christian, and a preacher’s daughter, being divorced was very difficult for me. I prayed and prayed for the right husband and father to come into my life. I asked God to give him a sense of humor. Well, after almost nine years of praying that prayer, god answered. (His timing, you know) The man He sent was 15 years my junior, never been married, and willing to take 3 children that were not his to help raise.
What an answer to prayer. I am a worship leader, and guess what? He played the piano. God is so good. However, my love is also a computer nut. His mind, being a computer nut and a musician works just a little different than a "normal person." When we had our marriage counseling, the minister said to be sure that we always kept the lines of communication open, and to never go to sleep angry with each other.
We married, and the morning after our wedding night, I woke up to my honey lying on his side resting his head on his elbow, looking at me. As I opened my eyes he said, "what do you want to talk about?" I looked at him rather funny. He said, "how about world hunger?" I knew that my life was going to be very interesting from then on. We have been married 23 years now and we have 9 grandchildren. God really does have a sense of humor...he sent me Lee.
