MY HAPPY EVER AFTER
You love me oh -so perfectly
So selflessly and so completely,
You always cheer me when I'm blue
No matter what I say or do-
Or how silly and obsessed I seem
I am still the girl of your dreams.
You always listen and never judge
Slow to anger -never hold a grudge
Always take me just as “I” am
Never yell, belittle or shame
Your love for me is faithful -always the same .
You lift me up and never let me fall
The faith and love you give help me to stand tall
Always ready to share my hopes and dreams
Never doubting or protesting
Always patient, ever trusting
To his pretty little “French” girl
He can never say “no”
To her he would promise the world.
I'd been in love before you knew
And feared to bring dishonor
If I should love another.
But you believed the heart was strong
And there was room to love anew!
My heart was an open door
From the moment our eyes met
My soul at once was sealed in yours
And the bond of love was set.
From that very first kiss
When you held me in your arms
I was captured by your charm
Your love I could not miss.
After all these years of wedded bliss
I have never known more joy than this!
To be loved by such a man
Was certainly in God's plan.
You have honored me,
You have completed me
When all is said and done
Love eternal is all I have to give
You are the reason that I now live!
Finally after a lifetime of sorrow
I have found my laughter
My “happy ever after”!
