ThAT CURL
Brought up by her mother
No father to be seen
With only a distant brother
To hell and back she's been
The maternity nurse shared her only hug
As she lays perplexed in a hole she has dug
Thus this confounded girl is still love free
She's still beckoning loneliness with and without glee
She wouldn't know any better
Than to hide away all day
Because her childhood hasn't set her
Any morals to send someone's way
Emotions bare
Besides depressed
For her an educations rare
As well as a different way to dress
The only outfit that she wears
Is that of shame
And the huge burden she's to bear
No one knows nor no one cares
Of what becomes of this helpless young girl
She feels that she's just there for them to stare
At her slashed up dress and that one bright curl
This curl she has it holds the light
To show her this future she has isn't all that tight
An open path that she can see
Is a start to finding what she might be
Her past she can scrap
Leaving only one memory
That is of the choice she once made
To lock that life away and throw away the key
In this life with no mother
Her fathers still not seen
Her brother's now more distant as
To heaven and back she's now keen.
