A surprise Valentines question

I met my now husband in the 7th grade, when we were in youth group together.  From then on, I had a crush on my guy.  He, however, did not see that I started liking him until my senior year of high school, the year after he graduated.  We started dating, and then I went away to school in North Carolina, while he stayed in Texas.

Long distance relationships are hard, but we somehow made it, and by my senior year we both decided that we wanted to be married.  I came home at Christmas break, but no ring.  Sadly, I went back to school, and the spring semester started.  He was going on our spring break trip with a group of my friends, and so I was expecting something then.
Plane tickets were expensive that year, and so I wasn't expecting him to come for Valentines Day since he was coming out a month later.  He surprised me by showing up at my door one night with roses!

The next day, Friday, we went to the Italian food place we had eaten at on last Valentines Day, and had a lovely dinner.  After dinner, he wanted to walk around on campus (even though it was all of 40 degrees outside...brrrr).  By this point, I have an idea that I might be getting a ring that night.  There is a bench on campus with the legend that if you sit on it and kiss, you will be together forever.  He eventually leads us over to that bench, and we sit down.

We began to talk, and he gives me my valentines present, which was much to heavy to be a ring.  I open it up, and it's a book with all the letters and emails we have sent each other over the years pasted in to it.  On the last page, he wrote "And now its time to start a new chapter of our lives together" and when I flipped the page, there was my ring, embedded into the pages of the book.  He got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him, and I said, "I would love to." And that's that, we were engaged.  And 11 months later, we're now MARRIED!!!!
