over coming problems
Our marriage was on the rocks and communication had all but ceased. A drinking problem opened up the lines of communication and then all the dirt began to fly. There were secrets that he was hiding including a relationship with another woman and that he had been unhappy in our marriage for the past five years.
As betrayed as I felt, I knew that we could overcome all the difficulties of our marriage if only we threw all the cards on the table and made a pact to work on the communication between us. I knew that I still loved him and wanted everything to work but he wasn't so sure. He agreed to be open and honest with his feelings and to start going to counseling to work on everything.
After six months of ups and downs, we found the couple that we were in the beginning. We are now celebrating our 9th anniversary together and we are as happy as when we were dating.
