Surprise!
My now husband and I hadn't been dating for very long, but we felt it appropriate to discuss marriage. We did for a few months, and then went ring shopping, finding the perfect one! I was with him when he bought it so I figured the proposal wouldn't be too much of a surprise. We bought the ring about 3 hours from our hometown and on our next trip to the city; we planned to pick it up.
On our drive over the mountain in beautiful Utah, it was just starting to snow in the canyon. He told me we should stop and take a picture next the frozen lake. (Kind of our tradition to take pictures). So we did. It was freezing so after the camera clicked, I ran back to the car. The door was locked! I was somewhat frustrated, and asked him to open the door. He told me no and pulled out a rose from his jacket. Then he knelt on one knee and pulled the ring out of his jacket.
I was totally shocked and immediately forgot how cold it was outside. He gave a long spill about how he loves me and then asked if I would marry him. I of course said yes and we got in the car. About ten minutes later when we finally warmed up he asked if I had said yes or not. Apparently he was too cold to remember!! Ha Ha!!
We finished our fun filled weekend which consisted of both of us coming down with the flu!! Yuck!! But anyway, apparently he had gone out to the city with his sister a few days earlier to pick it up. I thought he was working all along! Surprise!!
