It is extremely counter-productive.

EDITOR'S NOTE:

You are right.  We try to block as many of these ads as we can.  We can only block the ad if we know the name of the web site where the ad linked to.  Can you provide us in a comment the name of the domain where the ad was linked to?

The ads only pop up occasionally so when we see any bad ads we block them.  Thanks for reporting this ad.  We can't block it though unless we know the web site name it linked to.  

We hope you can post in a comment the web site it linked to so we can block it.
