A bedroom date
My wife and I have enjoyed this many times. It is a cheap date, and fun. We always try to keep our bedroom very romantic and neat. I think this is very important. We have a small table and 2 chairs in there, and a TV. I'll go out and get Chinese food for the two of us (our kids hate it) along with a bottle of sparkling cider. I get pizza for the kids. The kids love this date night, cause they get to be all alone, w/o mom and dad, and eat pizza and watch a video together.
Meantime, we're having a romantic candlelight dinner in our bedroom, with either soft music, or a romantic movie we're watching. Sometimes we start it off by taking a romantic bath together, with plenty of foreplay. My wife then dresses sexy for the occasion. We usually eat while watching the movie. (little hint here...if the movie ever gets a little boring, I rev things up by kissing and fondling her while it's playing. Many times this has turned into going all the way, even before the movie's over! You can always rewind!)
When the movie's over, the real action begins! I remember some of our best sex ever during these times. The whole date is usually under $25. The sex is PRICELESS!
