Proposal that came from way out in left field
My fiancee, now, had planned a weekend getaway with another couple. I’m in nursing school and always stressed out so he knew that giving me a nice weekend away was just what I needed. He took me to Laguna and had a whole plan set up. The other couple that went with us said they know of this great restaurant at this prestigious resort that they have been to. I was up for anything so I said sure.
The whole weekend my fiancee had been uptight and seemed irritated which made me irritated. I just thought he was in a bad mood, when really he was extremely nervous. Anyway we had dinner at this beautiful resort, and it just so happened that there was a wedding going on, on the beach at the resort. I knew this wedding was for really rich people only so I said I had to go to the restroom and snuck in to see the amazing reception. I went back to the dinner table and said that I wanted to go check out the ceremony site on the beach just for fun.
While we were walking on the path down to the beach I tried to hold his hand but he kept pulling away. I was so mad and didn’t know what his problem was. When really he had the ring box in his pocket and didn’t want me to see it, so he covered it with his hand. So we get down to the beach and I asked him to take a picture with me. We had been taking pictures all day so I really didn’t think anything of it.
As we were posing he grabbed my face with both of his hands and asked me I loved him. I said "of course", and that’s when he got down on one knee. I had no idea what he was doing. I thought he had to tie his shoe or something. He then asked me to marry him and pulled out the ring. At the same time our friends were taking a million pictures.
I thought it was a joke so I kept going back and forth between out friends and my fiancee asking if it was a joke. The poor guy was on his knee for like 10 minutes. Finally I asked my girlfriend.." is this for real?" and she yelled, "Just say yes!!" so I said yes and of course that is when I started crying. I was in shock. He completely surprised me and caught me off guard. It was the best night of my life!!
