The second first date.
As I sat alone on the beach under a star-studded California sky, I contemplated my life up to that point. A successful career as an aerospace engineer and a meaningful hobby of photography mixed with a deep love for my heavenly father should be enough for anyone, right? Just as the thought entered my mind the answer walked past me on the "deserted" beach. A very attractive man about my age was taking a walk to clear his head and take in the stars, as they were more beautiful than usual. He saw me at the last minute as he accidentally walked across my blanket.
As he was apologizing we met eyes and couldn't help but nervously giggle as we were both instantly connected on a deeper level. Almost like we had met before. After I offered to share my blanket for continued stargazing, idle talk turned to deep conversation about life and love and even sex. I couldn't get past the feeling of instant intimacy with this beautiful man as he "accidentally" touched my hand and I didn't pull away". He then came in closer and I could feel his breath against my neck as we both gave in and kissed for the first time. You smell too good I told him as he shyly smiled and took another kiss. Embracing for several minutes we lay on the blanket making out and watching the stars. "I love you." suddenly was said followed by "I love you too."
My husband is the most romantic man I could dream of as we played around with the idea of meeting for the first time again. We made love on that deserted beach that night and saw more stars than the sky can hold. Twelve years of passionate marriage where God is at the center and counting.
