A Christmas to remember

I decided to make our first Christmas together very special. I went out and bought my wife 10 gifts. I then wrapped them and hid them all over the house. On Christmas morning she opened a package that had a note saying "there are 10 gifts hidden throughout the house, each gift will have a clue to lead you to the next one". I then made up crossword puzzles, word searches, and encrypted codes that had to do with our relationship. She had to answer the questions correctly in order to find the next present. I even took the time to bust out a section of concrete floor in our basement, hide a present in the dirt and re-concrete over it. LOl! That one took her awhile. She spent all morning going all over the house, searching the clues, answering the questions. She was very surprised. But she had a terrific time and saw the time and energy I put into making her Christmas special.

The Christmas presents themselves were nothing extraordinary. The neat thing was seeing the kid’s reaction to it. I have full custody of 3 children from a prior marriage who just adore my new wife (well not new anymore, we've been married for 5 years now, praise God!) I even allowed them to help in the hiding of the presents, and included several questions about them that my wife had to answer such as......"when we took Jessie out to eat for her biorthday last year, what did she order to eat" Then my wife would have to answer the question correctly on the crossword puzzle. Then certain letters were circled on the crossword puzzle and she would have to form the letters into a sentence to find the next gift. It was so much fun for the whole family. My wife felt very honored and elevated. It's a Christmas we will never forget.
