My husband saved me from myself. I was working more than 40 hours a week to keep my mind busy enough not to contemplate bad thoughts. I had attempted to end it all before. Obviously, I failed. I wanted so much to feel loved and to love someone else. My life was empty. I looked around and saw happiness. I wanted that for myself. I had dated some, but nothing that I wanted to continue on a permanent basis. I gave myself to the second guy that showed me the least amount of attention just to feel wanted by someone. I was drowning in loneliness. I was online one night searching for someone to talk to. Another human being that would not judge me. I met Jamie. He was so sweet the first time we talked. I felt a connection between him and myself. Something drew me to him. Who knew he would turn out to be my hero and the other half of myself? We spent time together, talking and growing closer. His pain mirrored my own. He was a man scarred by the harsh words of people that would call him ugly. I was a woman seeking love and affection from someone that could mirror it back to me. He made me feel like it was okay to be myself, that I was worth more than people had let me believe. We dated for six months before he proposed. We married two months later. We have been married for three wonderful years. My husband helped me to embrace God's love and love myself more. He saved me from myself.
